Cape Town: A Photo Essay on Culture
Cape Town taught me that beauty and complexity can coexist. The mountain and the ocean and the history all layered on top of each other. It is a city that holds contradiction gracefully.

Three Photographic Subjects
- The light. Cape Town light has a clarity that feels almost aggressive. Colours pop with an intensity that seems artificial until you realise it is simply unpolluted.
- The Bo-Kaap at dawn. The coloured houses glowed like jewels against the mountain's grey bulk.
- The people. Every portrait is a collaboration. I photographed a fisherman in Hout Bay whose hands were maps of rope and salt. A jazz musician whose saxophone had travelled further than most people.
Travel is rhythm in motion. Landscapes and languages and shared humanity. Cape Town holds both. That is why I keep returning.
